Brewer Idler Bushings
18 products
Brewer's 18 idler bushings let you retrofit a tensioner or idler into an existing mount that was specified for a different bore size or bushing standard. Two bushing families: Q.D. (Quick Detachable) in SH, SDS, SD, SK, and SF sizes, and taperlock in 1610, 1615, 2012, and 2517 sizes.
Q.D. bushings use a split-taper design with three or four mounting bolts that pull the bushing onto the shaft for a tight grip. They handle higher torque loads than taperlock and are easier to remove for service. SH is the smallest, SF is the largest. Bore sizes from 1/2 inch up through 2 inch.
Taperlock bushings (numbered 1610 through 2517) are the industry-standard pattern matching Browning, Maska, Martin, and most other manufacturers. The number reads as the bore length and width: 1610 is 1.625 inch bore, 1.0 inch wide. Direct retrofit for existing taperlock installations.
Both styles available with ball bearing (B-suffix) or needle bearing (F-suffix). Ball bearing variants typically carry higher static loads. Needle bearing variants are quieter and handle higher speeds. Some sizes are stocked with a 1/2 inch alternate bore (1610-B-1/2, SH-B-1/2). Standard tools and torque specs apply.
