Brewer's 31 V-belt idler pulleys redirect or tension V-belt drives. Two top-width sections are stocked: 13V (5/8 inch top width) for lighter industrial applications and 15V (3/4 inch top width) for heavier duty. The 13V family also cross-references to Brewer's internal 1AU naming, and 15V to 1BU. They are the same parts under different labels.
Three bearing options across the cast iron line. Bronze bushed parts (U-suffix, no letter) are the most common and lowest cost, suited for general industrial duty at typical industrial speeds. Needle bearing parts (F-suffix) give you lower friction and better performance at higher speeds or longer duty cycles. Ball bearing parts (B-suffix) are for the highest-speed positions and offer the lowest friction overall.
Composite nylon V-belt idlers (BV series) handle lighter loads and reduce belt wear in food processing, packaging, and other applications where lightweight construction matters. Significantly quieter than cast iron in service.
