NEOFLEX is a 60° wide-angle V-belt with a 7mm (7M) top width that transmits more power in less space than a conventional 40° belt. Texas Belting & Supply stocks all 29 Megadyne NEOFLEX belts in effective lengths from 580 to 1600mm, the same belts formerly sold under the Jason Industrial brand with unchanged part numbers (7MR600 through 7MR1700).
Why a 60-Degree Angle?
The wide 60° angle places more sidewall under the tensile member, distributing load evenly across the belt and allowing higher power ratings, higher speed ratios, and smaller pulley diameters than classical V-belts. NEOFLEX is built on a chloroprene (Neoprene) body with transverse fabric plies for rigidity and a polyester tensile cord.
Reading NEOFLEX Part Numbers
The part number encodes the belt: 7M is the 7mm top width, R indicates rubber construction, and the final digits are the effective length in millimeters, so a 7MR1030 is a 7mm wide rubber belt with a 1030mm effective length.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a NEOFLEX belt?
NEOFLEX is Megadyne's 60-degree wide-angle rubber V-belt in the 7M (7mm top width) section, used in compact high-ratio drives such as power tools, machine tools, and centrifugal pumps.
Does Megadyne NEOFLEX replace Jason Industrial NEOFLEX?
Yes. They are the same belt. Jason Industrial belt production moved to Megadyne, and NEOFLEX part numbers carry over unchanged.
What sizes do NEOFLEX belts come in?
One section, 7M (7mm top width, 5mm deep, 60-degree angle), in effective lengths from 580mm to 1700mm. Texas Belting stocks lengths from 580 to 1600mm.
