Powerhouse® MX pulleys are high torque, low speed synchronous pulleys that run on the same drives as Gates Poly Chain® GT® Carbon™ and Continental Synchrochain Carbon belts. They are the standard retrofit for roller chain drives: no lubrication, no stretch, and far less maintenance on fans, pumps, and conveyors. This collection stocks 642 pulleys in 5 mm, 8 mm, and 14 mm MX pitch, from 18 to 224 teeth.
Construction is steel and ductile iron up to mid sizes and cast iron on large diameters, with stainless available in 8 mm. Bores run finished, minimum plain, and Taper-Lock® bushed. Every product page cross references the matching Gates sprocket number directly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do MX pulleys replace Gates Poly Chain sprockets?
Yes, in the same drive position. The tooth geometry matches, and published interchange data on each product page crosses the part directly to the equivalent Gates Poly Chain GT2 sprocket number, plain bore or bushed. Verify bore or bushing size before ordering.
Why convert a roller chain drive to an MX synchronous drive?
Chain stretches, needs lubrication, and wears sprockets; a high torque synchronous belt does none of that. On low speed, high load equipment like ACHE fans and conveyors, conversion typically cuts drive maintenance to periodic tension checks.
What is the difference between 8 mm and 14 mm MX pitch?
Torque capacity. 8 mm covers most fan and pump drives; 14 mm handles the heaviest low speed loads. Match the pitch and width of the belt specified for the drive, or use a drive design calculation when converting from chain.
