What Is Ure-Clad Urethane?

Ure-Clad is a custom urethane belting and parts system engineered for the most demanding abrasive conveying applications. Standard Ure-Clad material is formulated as a high-grade thermoset urethane product. The castability of the thermoset formula results in a highly abrasion-resistant, yet millable, finished urethane that dramatically outperforms standard rubber in cut, gouge, and wear environments.

Unlike conventional urethane coatings, Ure-Clad covers are cast directly onto bare carcasses, providing the greatest penetration and adhesion between the urethane compound and the belt fabric. This casting process — combined with an in-house tool and die shop capable of producing custom molds for proprietary products — allows Ure-Clad to be manufactured in virtually any configuration: covers, v-guides, cleats, chevrons, die stamping belts, capped edges, sheets, wear strips, scrapers, magnetic separator belts, wire mesh encapsulation, and precision ground components.

Texas Belting supplies Ure-Clad urethane belting and parts custom fabricated to your exact specifications. Prototype testing is available so you can test a Ure-Clad solution in realistic working conditions before making a substantial investment.

Ure-Clad Features

Standard 90±5 Shore A Durometer

Covers, cleats, chevrons, and v-guides are available in the standard durometer. Other grades available with minimum volume requirements.

Wide Temperature Range

Withstands temperatures from 0°F up to a maximum of 180°F. Customer-specified formulations may support different temperature ranges.

Prototype Testing Process

Test a prototype in realistic working conditions before making a substantial investment. Validate performance before committing to a full production run.

Custom Colors

Urethane parts can be produced in customer-specific colors to promote brand identity or for visual identification on the production line.

In-House Tool & Die Shop

Custom molds are produced in-house for proprietary products, allowing continuous quality monitoring and faster turnaround on custom designs.

Precision Grinding

State-of-the-art in-house precision grinding produces covers within ±.005" tolerance for applications requiring tight gauge control.

Ure-Clad Belting Options & Custom Parts

Ure-Clad urethane is available in the following configurations. All options are custom fabricated to your exact specifications.

Covers

Ure-Clad covers are available from a skim coat up to normal industry gauges. Covers are cast on various bare carcasses, providing the greatest penetration and adhesion between the urethane compound and the belt fabric.

V-Guides

Solid urethane v-guides for serious tracking concerns. Industry standard profiles A, B, and C, as well as custom designs. Available in notched and solid configurations.

Cleats

Cast cross cleats ranging from standard “I” with angled back-up to square or rectangular profiles. Heavy-duty rubber foot urethane bolted-on cleats available up to 14-1/2" for high-capacity applications.

Chevrons

Urethane chevron cleats in a wide variety of custom patterns for durable incline conveying. Cutouts and indents are easily achieved. Consult factory regarding minimum pulley diameter requirements.

Die Stamping Belts

Urethane die stamping belts outperform standard rubber belts. Superior cover quality combined with hidden mechanical fastener schemes. Precision grinding available upon request.

Capped Edges

Urethane capped edges address contaminant potential and structure interference. Provides longer belt life and cleaner conveying by sealing the belt edges against fraying and debris.

Sheets

Urethane sheets available in plain, fabric back, expanded metal back, or solid metal back. Standard size is 4′ × 10′, with custom sizes also available.

Wear Strips

Urethane wear strips strategically placed on traditional rubber belts to eliminate premature wear in unusual wear paths requiring more abrasion-resistant coverage.

Segmented V-Guides

Three profiles available to stabilize tracking and alignment on smaller pulleys. Segmented v-guides protect against complete guide failure and are abrasion resistant.

Scrapers

Belt scrapers of all types in urethane. Different gauges, widths, and heights with your choice of square or beveled edges. Urethane scrapers are far superior to common rubber scrapers.

Magnetic Separator Belts

Magnetic separator belts with urethane covers and urethane cross cleats for the toughest applications such as metal recycling, avoiding premature failure in harsh environments.

Wire Mesh

Urethane encapsulated wire mesh conveyor belts for extreme heavy-duty applications such as coil wrapper machines. Custom made to your dimensions to reduce expensive downtime.

Urethane Parts

Molded or cut urethane parts that outlast rubber parts. Consistent manufacturing methods, quality material, in-house mold production, and experienced staff ensure parts meet or exceed expectations.

Splices

Various base belts available with optional splice designs including urethane saturated finger splices, hidden fasteners, and standard mechanical fasteners.
