What Are Package Handling & ZipLink Belts?

Package handling and ZipLink belts serve two distinct but related markets. CP30 and rubber package handling belts are solid woven and multi-ply constructions optimized for parcel sortation, distribution, and logistics — offering flame retardancy, reliable tracking, and consistent friction. ZipLink® belts combine time-tested rubber cover materials with a structured spiral link mesh carcass that can be spliced at any length without special tools, presses, or equipment. ZipLink construction eliminates splice weak points — there is no loss of strength in the splice area, making these belts last longer than seamed or fused alternatives. ZipLink is available in blue carboxylated nitrile (FDA), white nitrile (FDA), brown nitrile, red natural rubber, and tan natural rubber covers. Texas Belting stocks all configurations.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is ZipLink?+
ZipLink is a conveyor belt construction that combines rubber cover materials with a polyester monofilament spiral link mesh carcass. The spiral links can be zipped together in the field at any length, creating a continuous belt without the need for splicing tools, presses, or adhesives.
What are the advantages of ZipLink over traditional belts?+
Tool-free field splicing reduces belt change time by more than 50%. No loss of strength at the splice point. Very low stretch monofilament carcass. High lateral stability for easy tracking. Available in FDA-compliant compounds for food processing.
Which ZipLink compounds are FDA compliant?+
Blue carboxylated nitrile and white nitrile ZipLink covers meet FDA requirements for direct food contact. They are used in tobacco processing, food conveying, and applications requiring low-temperature performance and stain resistance.
What is a CP30 package handling belt?+
CP30 package handling belts use a solid woven cotton-polyester carcass with nitrile or pebbletop covers. They provide consistent tracking, flame retardancy, and reliable friction for parcel sortation and distribution center conveyors.
What widths are available for ZipLink?+
ZipLink belts are manufactured in widths from 55 inches (1400mm) to 75 inches (1900mm) ± 2%. Belts are cut to width from stock rolls. Contact Texas Belting for exact availability and lead times.
How long does a ZipLink belt change take?+
A trained operator can change a ZipLink belt in the field in a fraction of the time required for a traditional splice. The spiral link design allows the belt to be unzipped, the new belt threaded through the conveyor, and zipped closed — often in under 30 minutes depending on conveyor access.
