The 1108x1/2 is a 1108 series Taper-Lock style bushing with a 1/2 in bore, machined from solid steel with a black oxide finish. It mounts any 1108-bushed component, including sheaves, sprockets, and timing pulleys, to a 1/2 in shaft. Every bushing is machined from solid stock, never sintered or powdered metal, which matters in a part that transmits its load through a friction fit.

How does a Taper-Lock style bushing install?
The bushing is split and tapered. Slide it onto the shaft, seat the component over it, and tighten the pull-up screws in the threaded holes. The screws draw the taper into the component, clamping the bushing onto the shaft. To remove, back the screws out and use them in the jacking holes to break the taper free.
