It provides reliable performance, good flexibility, and a long service life in clean, dry environments.
Polyurethane / Urethane
Polyurethane 5M belts offer better abrasion resistance, chemical resistance, and are FDA compliant for food-contact applications. Available with Kevlar or steel cord reinforcement. Kevlar Reinforced
Kevlar tensile cords provide higher tensile strength and better fatigue resistance than standard fiberglass. Used in high-load, high-cycle applications where the standard fiberglass cord reaches its limits. Available in both neoprene and urethane body materials.
Poly Chain GT Carbon (Gates)
Gates Poly Chain GT Carbon belts in 5MGT pitch use a polyurethane body with carbon fiber tensile cords. They deliver significantly higher horsepower ratings than standard neoprene 5M belts, with better chemical resistance and no need for re-tensioning. An excellent upgrade when you need more drive capacity without changing pulleys or center distance.
