Powerhouse® HTD pulleys use the curvilinear tooth profile that fits drives running HTD® belts, the most widely installed metric synchronous system in industrial equipment. This collection stocks 745 pulleys in 3 mm, 5 mm, 8 mm, and 14 mm pitches, from 10 to 278 teeth and up to 48 in outside diameter.
Small pitches come in clear anodized aluminum; 8 mm and 14 mm drives step up to steel, ductile iron, and cast iron with Taper-Lock® bushed mounting. Use these as direct replacements on existing HTD drives: match pitch, tooth count, belt width, and bore or bushing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are these pulleys compatible with Gates HTD belts?
Yes. The curvilinear tooth profile fits drives using HTD belts of the same pitch and width. HTD is a registered trademark of Gates Corporation; the pitch system itself is standardized and belts from Continental, Mitsuboshi, Optibelt, and others run on the same pulleys.
How do I replace a pulley on an existing HTD drive?
Read the existing pulley or belt marking for pitch and width (for example 8M 30 means 8 mm pitch, 30 mm wide), count the teeth, and note the bore or bushing size. Match all four and the new pulley drops in without changing the belt.
What is the difference between HTD and MX profiles?
Both are curvilinear, but MX is a deeper high torque form for low speed, high load drives, interchangeable with Gates Poly Chain GT Carbon systems. HTD is the general purpose metric curvilinear standard. The two are not interchangeable with each other; match the profile of the belt on the drive.
