AT10 Timing Belts (10mm Modified Metric Trapezoidal)
AT10 timing belts are the heavy-duty workhorse of the AT-profile family. With a 10mm pitch and a modified trapezoidal tooth designed for maximum load capacity, AT10 is the most widely specified AT-profile pitch for heavy linear motion gantry systems, large CNC machines, European industrial automation, and high-torque positioning drives. AT10 delivers significantly higher load capacity than standard T10 belts at the same pitch thanks to its wider tooth base and optimized root geometry.
AT10 timing belts are manufactured from polyurethane with steel wire or Kevlar tensile cords and are available in both closed-loop and open-end (continuous roll) form. Open-end AT10 with steel cord is the industry standard for heavy linear motion in European-designed automation. Texas Belting stocks AT10 timing belts for same-day shipping from Houston.

AT10 vs. T10: Modified vs. Standard at 10mm Pitch
AT10 and T10 both have a 10mm pitch and both are trapezoidal, but AT10 has a redesigned tooth with a wider base that increases load capacity and reduces stress concentration at the tooth root. They require different pulleys and are not interchangeable.

|---|---|---|
| Pitch | 10mm | 10mm |
| Tooth shape | Modified trapezoidal (wider base, reduced stress) | Standard trapezoidal (narrower base) |
| Load capacity | Higher (improved tooth root strength) | Standard |
| Pulleys | AT10 pulleys only | T10 pulleys only |
| Interchangeable? | NO. Different tooth geometry. Different pulleys. Do not mix. | |

AT10 Part Number Decoder
Standard Format: [Pitch Length]AT10-[Width]
| Part Number | Pitch Length | Width | Teeth | Construction |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 400AT10-25 | 400mm | 25mm | 40 | Urethane, steel cord |
| 660AT10-32 | 660mm | 32mm | 66 | Urethane, steel cord |
| 1000AT10-50 | 1000mm | 50mm | 100 | Urethane, steel cord |
| 1500AT10-75 | 1500mm | 75mm | 150 | Urethane, steel cord |
| AT10-50 (open-end) | Per cut length | 50mm | Per length | Urethane, steel cord |
How to calculate teeth: Divide pitch length by 10. Example: 1000 / 10 = 100 teeth. Open-end AT10 belts are sold by the meter and cut to any required length. Some manufacturers reverse the format (for example, 50AT10-1000). Texas Belting can cross-reference AT10 part numbers from any manufacturer. Call 888-203-2358 or send us your part number.
AT10 Width Guide
| Width (mm) | Width (Inches approx.) | Typical Applications |
|---|---|---|
| 16mm | 0.63" | Light AT10 drives, smaller European automation |
| 25mm | 0.98" | Common general-purpose AT10 width, medium linear motion |
| 32mm | 1.26" | Medium-heavy gantry systems, conveyors, packaging |
| 50mm | 1.97" | Most popular heavy-duty AT10 width. Large gantries, CNC routers. |
| 75mm | 2.95" | Very heavy gantry systems, waterjet tables, industrial automation |
| 100mm | 3.94" | Maximum standard AT10 width. Heaviest AT10 loads. Consider AT15 or AT20 if more capacity needed. |
Open-end urethane AT10 belts can be cut to custom widths from wider stock rolls. Contact Texas Belting for non-standard width availability.
AT10 vs. Other Heavy-Duty Timing Belt Pitches
| Profile | Pitch | Tooth Form | Load Capacity | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AT8 | 8mm | Modified trapezoidal (AT) | Heavy | Medium-heavy gantries, step down from AT10 for lighter loads |
| AT10 | 10mm | Modified trapezoidal (AT) | Very heavy | Heavy gantry systems, large CNC, European heavy automation |
| AT15 | 15mm | Modified trapezoidal (AT) | Extreme | Next step up for the heaviest AT-profile applications |
| T10 | 10mm | Standard trapezoidal | Heavy | Standard European heavy drives (lower load than AT10 at same pitch) |
| 8M (HTD) | 8mm | Curvilinear (HTD) | Heavy | General global heavy-duty drives |
| 14M (HTD) | 14mm | Curvilinear (HTD) | Very heavy | Highest HTD load capacity, high-horsepower industrial drives |
AT10 is the most popular pitch in the AT-profile family for heavy applications. It competes with T10 at the same pitch (AT10 provides higher load) and with 14M HTD in overall load class (14M uses a curvilinear tooth). For existing AT10 equipment, always match the AT10 profile exactly. For new designs, the choice between AT10 and 14M HTD depends on whether the equipment follows European (AT) or global (HTD) pulley standards. See the Tooth Profiles Explained guide.
AT10 for Heavy Linear Motion
AT10 is the dominant profile for heavy-duty linear motion gantry systems in European automation. Open-end AT10 with steel cord is the industry standard for large CNC routers, waterjet cutting tables, plasma tables, heavy pick-and-place systems, and industrial positioning gantries with high carriage weights.
- Open-end urethane AT10 with steel cord is the standard construction. Cut to any length. Joined with mechanical connectors or welded splices.
- 50mm width is the most popular for heavy linear motion. 75mm and 100mm for the heaviest gantry systems.
- Steel cord provides 0.02% elongation under load, maintaining precise carriage positioning over travel distances of several meters.
- AT10 outperforms standard T10 in linear motion because the modified tooth geometry handles higher acceleration forces and heavier carriage loads without tooth shear.
- For the heaviest loads that exceed AT10 capacity, step up to AT15 (15mm) or AT20 (20mm).
