Lynx Industrial Chain
Lynx is the industrial chain line manufactured by Baart Industrial Group, covering the full range of power transmission and conveyor chain for industrial, agricultural, and heavy machinery applications. Texas Belting & Supply stocks the complete Lynx catalog: over 1,000 SKUs spanning ANSI standard roller chain, British Standard metric chain, leaf chain, pintle chain, coupling chain, and chain installation tools. Use the pickers below to shop by pitch, chain type, material, or component.
Shop by Chain Pitch (ANSI Size)
Chain pitch is the distance between adjacent pin centers. It is the most important specification when ordering chain since pitch must match your sprocket pitch exactly. ANSI standard pitches range from #25 (1/4 inch) for precision instruments through #240 (3 inch) for the heaviest industrial drives.

Chain Series Comparison: Standard vs XD vs SH
Lynx offers three chain strength tiers within the standard ANSI dimensional envelope. All three series are dimensionally compatible with the same sprockets in matching pitch and strand count. The difference is in materials and manufacturing, which yields different tensile strength and service life.
| Series | Strength | Typical Applications | Sizes | Cost | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard (HD) | Industry standard B29.1 | Most industrial drives | #25 - #240 | $ | General purpose |
| XD Extreme Duty | 25-35% higher tensile | Mining, oil & gas, shock loading | #80 - #240 | $$ | High shock loads |
| SH Super Heavy | Up to 40% higher tensile | Steel mills, draglines, port cranes | #100 - #240 | $$$ | Maximum strength |
Chain Components
Roller chain ships as a reel. You cut to length on site and join the ends with a connecting link. For drives where pitch count is odd, you may also need an offset link. These components are stocked separately from chain reels:
Lynx chain pairs with BlackStar industrial sprockets in matching ANSI pitch. For complete drive packages, order chain and sprockets together to ensure dimensional compatibility.
How To Order Chain: 5-Step Selection Guide
Step 1: Identify Your Pitch
Measure pitch on existing chain (pin-to-pin distance) or check equipment documentation. Pitch is the primary identifier and must match your sprocket exactly. Chain and sprocket pitch are interchangeable across brands, but never substitute different pitches.
Step 2: Determine Reel Length
Calculate total chain length needed and buy at least 6 inches extra for chain stretch and installation slack. Reels come in 5', 10', 50', and 100' lengths.
Step 3: Choose Connection Type
Riveted chain has permanent connections and slightly higher strength: best for high-speed continuous operation. Cottered chain is field-serviceable with hand tools.
Step 4: Add a Connecting Link
Every chain reel needs one connecting link to join the cut ends into a loop after sizing. Three types: Cottered Pin (C/P C/L), Spring Clip (S/C C/L), or Riveted.
Step 5: Add Offset Link If Needed
If your drive geometry requires an odd-pitch chain length, add one offset link (O/L). Avoid using offset links in shock-loaded applications where possible.
