What Makes Mold to Width Different?
Traditional modular belts are assembled from narrow modules joined together to reach the desired belt width. The HC508C-MTW takes a fundamentally different approach — each module is injection-molded as a single piece up to 24 inches wide. This eliminates the joints between narrow modules, creating a seamless surface that is stronger, more hygienic, and more resistant to knife cuts during deboning and trimming operations.
The open hinge design allows water and cleaning chemicals to flow through the belt freely, reducing sanitation time significantly. Combined with FDA and EU compliant materials, the HC508C-MTW meets the strictest USDA and HACCP requirements for meat, poultry, and seafood processing.

Applications
Slaughtering, deboning, trimming, portioning. HC508C-MTW for maximum cut resistance. HC127 C for tight-pitch compact lines.
Whole bird and cut-up lines, marination, chilling. Mold to Width surface prevents small parts from catching in module joints.
Filleting, sorting, and packing. Hygienic open-hinge design handles the aggressive sanitation protocols seafood processing requires.
Both models available in POM for temperatures down to -43°C. HC127 C also available in PP for standard cooling above +5°C.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does Mold to Width mean?
Each HC508C-MTW module is injection-molded as a single piece up to 24 inches wide, rather than being assembled from multiple narrow modules. This creates a seamless, stronger, more hygienic belt surface with exceptional resistance to knife cuts during meat and poultry processing.
How does HC508C-MTW compare to EC508 C?
Both use 2" pitch, but they're built for different purposes. EC508 C uses standard modular construction — economical and available in multiple module widths. HC508C-MTW uses Mold to Width for a seamless surface with superior cut resistance and hygiene. Choose EC508 for general heavy-duty, HC508C-MTW for protein processing where knife contact is constant. Is the HC127 C compatible with EC127 sprockets?
No. The HC127 C uses its own sprocket system designed for the heavier chain construction. HC127 uses Ø4.5mm rods versus Ø4.7mm self-lock rods on the EC127. Contact Texas Belting for the correct HC127 sprocket specification.
What temperature range can HC belts handle?
In Acetal (POM): -43°C to +110°C (-45°F to +230°F). HC127 C is also available in Polypropylene (PP) for +5°C to +90°C (+41°F to +194°F). Both materials are FDA and EU 10/2011 compliant for direct food contact.
