Why Grip Top?
Textured rubber surface provides consistent grip on inclines up to 30–35 degrees without product slippage. No need for cleated or vacuum alternatives.
The textured grip surface is FDA and EU approved for direct food contact. Non-marking and non-damaging — safe for delicate products like baked goods and produce.
Multiple color options for visual contrast during quality inspection. Helps identify foreign material on the belt surface during processing.
EC254R GT is the only Modutech grip top with radius capability. Handles direction changes on curved conveyors while maintaining product grip.
Applications
EC127 GT for tight-transfer packaging machines and feeder systems. MD254 GT for heavier boxed and bagged product inclines.
Gentle, non-marking grip for delicate products on inclines. EC254R GT for curved bakery cooling lines.
EC254R GT with radius capability for tray pack lines that change direction. Grips trays securely through curves and elevation changes.
EC254R GT for curved meat packaging lines and cooling conveyors. MD254 GT for heavy portioned product inclines.
Frequently Asked Questions
What incline angle can grip top belts handle?
Modutech grip top belts reliably convey products on inclines up to 30–35 degrees depending on product type and weight. The FDA-approved textured surface provides consistent friction without product damage or marking.
Are grip top belts available in colors for visual inspection?
Yes. Multiple color options provide visual contrast that aids quality inspection and helps identify foreign material on the belt surface. Contact Texas Belting for available colors by model.
What is the difference between the three grip top models?
EC127 GT (0.5" pitch) is for small products and tight transfers on compact conveyors. MD254 GT (1" pitch, medium duty) handles heavier loads with stronger module construction. EC254R GT (1" radius pitch) is the only grip top that handles direction changes on curved and spiral conveyors. All three share the same FDA-approved textured grip surface.
Can I use grip top belts in freezer environments?
Yes. EC127 GT is available in Polyethylene (PE) rated to -73°C / -99°F for freezer applications. Contact Texas Belting for material availability on the MD254 GT and EC254R GT models.
Which grip top model works for curved conveyors?
Only the EC254R GT has radius capability, with 38% open area and side-flexing design for curved and spiral conveyor layouts. The EC127 GT and MD254 GT are straight-run belts only. See the EC254 Series for more radius belt options.
